WHA - Board of Commissioners

The Wheeling Housing Authority is governed by a Board of Commissioners. The Mayor of Wheeling appoints board members.

The Board of Commissioners is responsible for approving the annual budget, contracts and setting policy. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month in the Boardroom at Riverview Towers, at 3:00 p.m., 601 Main Street in Wheeling. The meetings are open to the public.

Chip West
Chairperson

Mr. West was appointed to the Board of Commissioners in 1997. He was elected chairman in 1999.

Mr. West also belongs to several organizations including the Victorian Wheeling Landmarks Foundation, Red Cross Board Member, United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley, Wheeling Conventions and Visitors Bureau Board Member, Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce, and Executive Officer of the WV Northern Panhandle Home Builders Association.

Mr. West and his wife, Sallie have two sons, Eric and Neil.

The remaining members appointed to the Board of Commissioners are Joe Key, Bernadette Smith, Cheryl Jones, and Jerry Craig.
