New Units Are Available!

Are you searching for affordable, secure housing for yourself or your family? Look no further. Several units are opening in Wheeling Housing Authority properties across the city. Subsidized housing helps to make your dream of independent living a reality. So, what are you waiting for?

There are 3 easy steps to submit your application:

1. Review your property options

The Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP, or Section 8) allows you to rent from a landlord within the city of Wheeling. Once you're approved, Wheeling Housing Authority will help you afford your rent payment.

And of course there are public housing options available, too! These properties are all owned and managed by Wheeling Housing Authority. And when your application is approved, you'll be eligible for a place to live that's affordable for you. These are the public housing options in Wheeling:

2. Contact the Site Manager and ask about vacancies

Each location has different vacancies available. So call ahead, and a site manager can help you find a place that will work for you and your family. Our office phone number is: 304-242-4447

3. Send in your application

Do you need us to provide a paper copy of the application? Give us a call and we'll set you up! You can also view and download the application directly from our website.

  • The Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) and Public Housing applications are available on ONE form. You can access it right here:

  • And if you're interested in applying to live in one of WNV Properties, there's a different application form. WNV stands for Wheeling Neighborhood Ventures. These properties are under the umbrella of the Housing Authority, just like the highrises, but WNV properties are managed separately. Your application is here:
