Resident and Visitor Notice

Posted 06/01/20

Calendar Event Photo

The following notice was posted March 30 and remains in effect to continue efforts to protect staff and residents. West Virginia remains under order by Governor Justice (see your June newsletter, page 4 or click here) through the Safer at Home Executive order.

To help in slowing the spread of the dangerous Coronavirus (COVID-19), you are requested to follow the guidance posted in the building and through the CDC. This is in addition to the posters regarding Washing hands, maintaining social distance, seeking medical attention if ill, covering a cough or sneeze with the crook of your arm, and avoiding touching your face.

Residents:

Stay in your homes
If outdoors, stay away from groups of people as much as possible
Limit visitors to persons essential to maintaining health, well-being, and safety
Social interaction is important; however, in-person social interaction increases risk
Learn and practice alternate ways of interacting (phone calls/video)

Visitors:

If your presence is not essential to preserving the health, well-being or safety of a resident; do not enter.
Maintain social distance of at least 6 feet.
If you have had contact with someone who has symptoms, limit your contact with others.
Avoid large groups.
If you are visiting, go straight to the person’s apartment; no lingering in the common areas.

All:

Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 or more seconds
Avoid touching your face
Cover coughs and sneezes with the crook of your arm or a tissue (discard the tissue in a trash can)
If you are ill, seek medical attention. If you feel you have symptoms of Covid-19, there are 3 testing sites: Wheeling Hospital (at Wheeling Park) 304-22-3995; Med Express (Elm Grove) 304-242-4228; and Doctor’s Urgent Care (Woodsdale) 304-232-0725. Do not just show up, you must call first.
Avoid contact with common areas (i.e., elevator buttons (cover your finger before touching))
Maintain social distance – 6 feet or more.
If an elevator seems crowded, wait for the next elevator.
